JARED'S STORY:

Jared Kahn was born and raised in the green suburbs of New Jersey. Musically, he found his calling when he discovered the electric guitar at age 12, and began teaching himself all of his favorite songs. In high school, Jared became band leader of his school’s rock band and spent his nights playing in clubs with musicians more than twice his age. Through the college years, he toured with bands, performed at famous venues, and spent his days writing and producing music.

In 2017, Jared drove across the country to Los Angeles, CA. He brought his guitar, music studio and dreams along with him. He quickly found himself playing along side world class musicians, performing on famous stages, writing with artists and producing music for TV & Film. When he's not making music, you can find him fishing at the beach, hiking in the mountains, camping with his family and searching for the best tacos in LA!

THE COMPANY STORY:

As Jared's music career began to take shape in his early 20's, he discovered a passion for education through teaching guitar lessons. Soon after, an opportunity arose to teach music at a preschool and Jared found himself in a completely new musical world, quickly realizing that music education could be more than just guitar lessons. He discovered ways to make learning fun for kids by bringing sing alongs, instrument jams, games, dancing, songwriting, and all of the things that he loved about music, into the classroom. In 2014, while juggling various musical projects, a modern music education company, Jammin’ with Jared, was born.

Before moving to Los Angeles in 2017 to further pursue his musical dreams, Jared made his mark on the greater NYC area, creating a community of dedicated families and schools and released his first self-produced, original album of children’s music (streaming everywhere!) Upon arrival to California, he called every preschool and knocked on every door in LA to begin the process of rebuilding his company in a new city. He put his blood, sweat, tears and years into bringing JWJ back to life. Within the first few years, Jared found himself in new schools, parks, storefronts and homes. Los Angeles welcomed him with open arms!

When the world shut down in March 2020, what began as an in-person model, quickly evolved to virtual offerings. With over 30 hours of live virtual music classes, Jared provided kids and families a refuge for creativity, routine and fun amidst a time of great uncertainty, (all episodes still available on Youtube!) As the world returned to a new normal, Jared was eager to return to the communities he worked so hard to nurture, but now with an improved and expanded roster of teachers, programs and offerings including cutting edge classes taught by entertainment industry professionals with a passion for education. 

Jammin with Jared continues to adapt, pivot and forge forward in the face of uncertainty to bring live music and arts to children and communities. Now with the present world of AI, Jared is finding creative ways of incorporating technology into his programs while preserving the HUMAN touch, and doubling down on the importance of in person events!

Jammin’ with Jared was founded with a mission: to keep music fun through songs that the whole family can enjoy, and to bring communities together through the universal language that is music! Jared operates with an emphasis on social, emotional and early childhood development, empowering children to connect, learn and grow. Jammin' with Jared recently celebrated its 10th year and has brought its unique program and spirit to thousands of children and hundreds of locations across the USA!
